"We Will Be Back", a theatrical performance presented at al-Hamra'a stage

"We Will Be Back" is a dancing theatrical performance recently performed at al-Hamra'a theatre in Damascus by the Syrian al- Mohra ( The mare) band.

The thematic content of the performance was inspired by the rich heritage of Syria and the Arab states. The poems were written by Ehab Muradni and composed by Mohammad al-Habbash.

The performance started with songs about the history of Damascus and its rich legacy in all domains. It was followed by excerpts from the poetry of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish highlighting the Palestinian heritage and the insistence of the Palestinian people to press ahead with their resistance acts until the liberation of their occupied lands and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The band also presented a poetry by the famous Egyptian poet Ahmad Shawki casting light on the rich Egyptian legacy. The Lebanese heritage was presented by the band through a poems by famous Lebanese poet Sa'ed Akel.

Director of the band Maher Hammami said that the performance celebrates the landslide victory recently realized by the Syrian Arab army over terrorism and its backers in Aleppo and its countryside. He added that the work also focuses on the pan-Arab feelings that should unify Arab people nation-wide in confrontation of the conspiracies being hatched against the Arab nation.
