Resisting terrorist groups, US and Turkish occupations is Syria’s sovereign right: al-Mikdad

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad has stressed that resisting the terrorist groups as well as the US and Turkish occupation is the sovereign right of the Syrian state.

In a recent interview with the Beirut-based “al-Maydeen” TV, al-Mikdad said that the Syrians are currently celebrating the reopening of Aleppo-Damascus international highway which has been closed for years because of terrorist groups, pointing out that a new military phase has started after the Syrian army’s recent gains in the fight against terrorism in Idleb and Aleppo.

He stressed that Syria won’t forget the support of Russia, Iran, Hizbollah and the axis of resistance during the years of the war.

Al-Mikdad went on to say that “Israel” has supported the terrorist groups from the very beginning of the war on Syria and it knew all the details of the war so it planned well for all the attacks it had launched on Syrian territories.

He also said that Washington wants to control the Syrian oil and to protect Israel to serve the US interests in the region and it has been using Turkey to achieve this goal.

Turkey no is Syria’s enemy because it occupies Syrian lands and it has allowed terrorists from all over the world to enter the country,” al-Mikdad said, according to al-Mayadeen.

Turkey doesn’t respect the agreements reached in Sochi or the understandings reached in security meetings, pointing out that Erdogan is a liar and he is involved in the war on Syria and now he is sending his troops to fight in Libya.
