PA Speaker, Information Minister Meet Egyptian Political and Mass Media Delegation

DAMASCUS,(ST)- " the political program to solve the crisis in Syria is the main exit to overcome the ongoing events and an important stage in the political solution in participation with all sides,"said PA Speaker Mohammad Jihad Laham.

Laham's remarks came during a meetind held on Monday with Egyptian media political bodies.

"the majority of the opposition outside Syria do not enjoy popular base and if they were confident of their political proposals, the door is open for dialogue with everyone who protects the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria,"stressed Laham.

Al-Laham reviewed the reality of the ongoing events in Syria and the war which is launched against the Syrian people to undermine Syria's national role.

Earlier,Information Minister Omran al-Zou'bi met a delegation of Egyptian political and mass media figures headed by Secretary General of the Egyptian Nasserite Party Ahmed al-Hussein.

"what is happening in Syria has nothing to do with the "Arab spring."said Hussein.

Members of the delegation voiced support for the Syrian people in the face of the conspiracy targeting it, with

Hussein  hailed the Syrian people's steadfastness in the face of armed terrorist groups and Jabhet al-Nusra.

 "the conspiracy against Syria is doomed to fail thanks to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army,"underscored Hussein.

The delegation members lauded the political program for resolving the crisis in Syria and the national dialogue.

For his part, Minister al-Zou'bi praised  the political forces' stances and the role of journalists who spare no effort to convey the reality of events in Syria, underlining  that those who target Syria are targeting the entire Arab nation.

Al-Zou'bi  also briefed the delegation on the mechanisms of materializing  the political program for resolving the crisis and launching national dialogue across Syria.

Al-Halqi: ministerial committee is open to all Syrians who believe in dialogue

DAMASCUS,(ST) –" the meetings between the government and various components of the Syrian society produced positive results,"said al-Halqi.

Premier Al-Halqi's remarks came during a meeting on Monday held between the ministerial committee for materializing  the political program to resolve the crisis and Secretary General of the Syrian Unified Communist Party Hnein Nemr.

"such meetings are very important as regards  ensuring  the success of dialogue, the ministerial committee is open to all Syrians who believe in dialogue,'underscored al-Halqi.

During the meeting,al-Halqi  reviewed the results of the committee's meetings and the guarantees provided for those who wish to back home  and participate in dialogue.

For his part, Nemr branded  the consultation meeting as positive new phenomenon in Syria's political life, presenting his party's remarks on the implementation of the political program and suggestion to boost trust prior to dialogue.

Cementing ties between Syrians and Palestinians imperative, says Mikdad

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad on Monday met with a delegation from the Palestinian Liberation Organization Executive Committee headed by Director of the Refugee Affairs Department  at the PLO's Committee, Zakaraya Ibrahim.

Talks dealt with cementing  ties between the Syrian and Palestinian people and the conditions of Palestinian refugees in Syria.

"Syria will continue to back  the struggle of the Palestinian people to realize their legitimate aspirations, "underscored Mikdad, noting that much of what is happening in Syria currently is due to its support of the Palestinian cause and its position towards the Arab-Israeli conflict.

"Syria's commitment to the Palestinian refugees, and they (Palestinians)should not be dragged into the current events in Syria, "underlined Mikdad.

For their part, the delegation members briefed Mikdad on the political and internal situation in Palestine, wishing Syria and its people progress, prosperity ,security and hoping that Syria will emerge from the crisis and remain a base of supporting Arab rights and causes, formost  the Palestinian cause.

President al-Assad Receives Patriarch John X Yazigi

DAMASCUS, (ST) – President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received Patriarch John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.

President al-Assad congratulated Patriarch Yazigi on his inauguration as Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, wishing him luck in his new position and lauding the historic role of the Orthodox Church in spreading messages of amity, good and tolerance in the world in general and in Syria in particular.

President al-Assad hailed  the high national feeling  of the Orthodox Church and its fundamental  role in consolidating  national unity in the face of the attack targeting Syria which aims to disrupt  the unified Syrian fabric and values of co-existance.

For his part, Patriarch Yazigi expressed deep  confidence that Syria will emerge victorious from the ongoing crisisbeing experienced by the day.

Patriarch Yazigi stressed  the importance of Syrians' adherence to their unity to achieve  victory.

"I hope that safety and security will prevail in Syria to the country for good and loving as it has always been and will remain,"underscored Patriarch Yazigi.

"All Syrians are one family and one  people whatever the  difficult the circumstances are,"underlined Patriarch Yazigi..

A Global Rally to Support Syria in France

 Participants in the "Global Rally to Support Syria" which was held  in France made it clear  that dialogue is the only solution to solve the crisis in Syria, expressing support for Syria in the face of the conspiracy targeting it.

The participants denounced the foreign interference in Syria’s affairs and the support offered by some western forces and its allies in the region to the armed terrorist groups (funding –arming). 

The rally was organized by  the National Union of Syrian Students branch, the Tunisian, Algerian and some Arab communities as well as French nationals at the Trocadéro Square in Paris.

"the solution should be achieved through dialogue and the political program, expressing their support and appreciation for the Syrian Arab Army's sacrifices to restore security and stability to the country,"affirmed the participants.

The participants said that the powers which stand behind the assassination of the Tunisian opposition figure Shukri Baleid are the same which kill the Syrian people, confirming that their enemy is one which is terrorism and its supporters.

During the rally, the participants lifted  posters of President Bashar al-Assad and flags of Syria, Tunisia and Algeria.

President Al-Assad: Syria Won't Give up Its Firm Principles

President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday received a delegation of Jordanian activists ,lawyers ,doctors and engineers.

The situation in the region in general and in Syria in particular was the main theme of the meeting .

The delegation members strongly voiced the Jordanian people's support for their Syrian brethren in their current ordeal.

"the noble Arabs will never leave Syria alone ,and definitely the Syrian blood which was shed was in defense of all Arabs and that it will write Syria's coming victory, "affirmed the delegation.

"the targeting of Syria is not new simply because the country has adopted the just Arab causes for decades, 'said the delegation members.

They also praised Syria's firm stances as regards adhering Arab dignity ,rights and causes.

For his part, President Al-Assad thanked the delegation members for their national stances towards Syria .

"Syria will remain the beating heart of Arabism and it will not relinquish its principles no matter how much pressure is exerted upon it regardless of the conspiracies that not only target Syria but also the entire Arab World,"stressed Al-Assad.

 Earlier, Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi, met the  delegation of  Jordanian Lawyers and Representatives of political, Scientific and Social Bodies headed by lawyer Samih Khreis.

The two sides reviewed the current situation where Syria experiences a major conspiracy targeting its unity, people, stability and its national and firm principles.

Dr. al Halqi pointed to the dimensions and components of the conspiracy on Syria that aim to destroy the national economy, sabotage the infrastructure and targeting the industrial facilities, oil and gas pipelines, plants and power transmission lines as well as targeting hospitals, mills, silos, bakeries, phone networks and telephone communications.

He also briefed  the delegation on  political program to resolve the crisis in Syria, stressing the openness of the government and working hard with all the forces and political parties including the opposition forces and the procedures and steps taken by the government to create and prepare for the national dialogue process on the basis of adhering national sovereignty and peaceful solution to the crisis and rejecting foreign interference Syria's affairs .

"things are going better and that Syria is moving in the right direction to meet the aspirations and hopes of the people in building a democratic state." Dr. al-Halqi stressed.

Dr. al Halaqi welcomed the initiative of the Chairman and members of the Jordanian delegation in their visit to the brotherly country of Syria and praised their national positions and their stand to the side of the Syrian right and their commitment to Arab issues.

For their part, Chairman and members of the Jordanian delegation confirmed that Syria is facing a conspiracy and a global war for its pioneering role in embracing resistance and defending of Arab issues and confronting foreign projects and what happens now, is in this context does not represent the demands of reform or democracy.

Mr. Khreis and members of the delegation expressed their absolute solidarity with Syria and to stand by her, saying, "We stand with ourselves when we stand with Syria and what affects  Syria affects all of us ,the Arab issues , the security and stability of the region."

President Al-Assad Congratulates Ahmadinejad on Iranian Revolution Victory Anniversary

DAMASCUS, (ST) – President Bashar al-Assad cabled his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulating him on the 34th anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Revolution.

On behalf of the Syrian people and on his own behalf, President Al-Assad expressed his best wishes to the Iranian President and the friendly people of Iran.

Celebrating this occasion, the Iranian Embassy in Damascus held a reception ceremony attended by senior Syrian officials including Speaker of the People's Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi and his two deputies in addition to some ministers, general secretaries of the National Progressive Front parties and a number of Baath party regional leadership members.

Al- Mikdad: Iranian Revolution was a turning point in the history of the region

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal al-Mikdad said "the Syrian people everywhere share with the friendly people of Iran their celebration on the revolution's victory anniversary," stressing that the Iranian revolution has been a great event not only in the Middle East, but in the entire world.

Al-Mikdad, who hailed the achievements of the Iranian revolution, said the revolution was a turning point in the history of the region and has been a main supporter for just Arab causes.

He commended the strategic relations between Syria and Iran, stressing that "Syria will continue to be Iran's honest friend and brother in the confrontation of the challenges facing the Islamic republic."

"Alliance between the two countries will continue," al-Mikdad added, affirming that Syria will keep steadfast in confrontation of the foreign-backed aggression and that the proposed political program embodies the leadership's aspirations to attain a peaceful settlement of the crisis in Syria based on dialogue and national reconciliation.

Grand Mufti: West prevents Syria and Iran from possessing technology because of their resisting stances 

For his part, the Grand Mufti of the Syrian Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun commended the Iranian revolution's ability to attain great achievements despite the great Western pressure Iran is being exposed to.

He pointed out that the West has been attempting to prevent Iran and Syria from possession technology because they didn't surrender to the American and western dictates.

He thanked Iran for its support to Syria's in confrontation of the crisis caused by the foreign-backed armed terrorist groups.

Iranian Ambassador:  Halting violence, stopping arming and financing terrorists and dialogue are the way to solve crisis

The Iranian Ambassador to Syria Mohammad Riza Shebani said that the scientific development, Iran has been witnessing under the revolution leadership, has strengthened the Islamic republic and made it a very effective power that can't be ignored in any international equation.

He stressed that People's determination and adherence to national principles is the way to win victory over any kind of conspiracy.

"The ongoing events in Syria are a Western attempt to undermine resistance forces in the region," he said, stressing that solving the crisis in Syria can only be attained through halting violence, stopping the arming and financing of terrorists and through sitting to the national dialogue table," the Iranian Ambassador concluded.
