President Al-Assad: Syria Is for All Its People Regardless of Their Religion or Ethnicity

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that Syria will continue to be for all its people  regardless of their religion or ethnicity, hailing the national role played by the Armenian Syrians in the face of the division schemes which the barbaric terrorist war waged on the country has sought to implement . 

President Al-Assad, who made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with Catholicos Aram I Keshishian, head of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, said that the barbarism of the terrorist war on Syria is reminiscent of the massacres committed by the Ottomans against the Armenian people.

President Al-Assad: Transparency Best Means to Build Effective Communication with Citizens

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the most important way for the government to build effective communication with citizens is to adopt transparency and provide information to citizens on all issues including on crises and emergency situations  that face the government and have direct impacts on citizens' life.

President Al-Assad made the remarks on Tuesday while chairing the Cabinet periodic meeting which focused on the need to put a specific mechanism and a strategy to enhance communication with Syrian citizens in the coming era.

President Al-Assad, Borisov Discuss Boosting Syrian-Russian Cooperation, Efforts to Implement Signed Agreements

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yori Borisov discussed in a meeting on Saturday all-out cooperation between Syria and Russia as well as the agreements signed between the two countries within the framework of the Syrian-Russian Joint cooperation Committee in the domains of energy, industry and trade.

 Borisov, who is the head of the Russian-Syrian joint committee for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, reviewed the phases of implementing the agreements signed between the two countries and the obstacles that delay completing the implementation process. He expressed satisfaction over the steps achieved in this regard to further enhance bilateral ties.

President Al-Assad and Borisov discussed mechanisms to eliminate all the obstacles facing cooperation be they administrative elements or obstacles caused by the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people by their enemies.

President Al-Assad, Lavrentiev Stress Continuous Coordination to Reach Positive Results in Forthcoming Astana Talks

DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad and the Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev have stressed the importance of continuous coordination on all issues to be discussed in the forthcoming Astana talks on Syria in order to reach positive results that achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people, on the top of which are the elimination of terrorism and the restoration of peace and stability to all the Syrian territories.

US Policies Won't Stop Iran and Syria from Defending their Peoples' Interests

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has reaffirmed Syria's condemnation of the US blacklisting of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC), stressing that this irresponsible move is  part of the wrong US policies which constitute a main cause of instability in the region.      

President  Al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with Iranian Foreign Minister  Mohammad Javad Zarif and the accompanying delegation.

President al-Assad also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people and to families of the victims of the floods which recently hit a number of Iranian provinces.
