Syrian community in Australia celebrates the victory of Dr. Bashar Al-Assad in the presidential elections

SYDNEY, (ST)_The Syrian community in Australia has celebrated the success of the presidential elections and the victory of President Bashar Al-Assad during a national activity held in the Syrian Consulate, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The agency quoted the Syrian Honorary Consul in Sydney Maher Dabbagh as saying that the people of Syria will never be subject to the pressures of the hostile western countries.
The Consul saluted the Syrian army which fought terrorism and protected the homeland.
The members of the community asserted their rejection for foreign intervention in their country's internal affairs.
In this context, Australian academic and writer Tim Anderson said in a letter he sent to the Syrian consulate in Sydney: “The Syrian presidential elections prove that the United States is unable to subjugate the Syrian people .These people have resisted the US empire  just as they resisted Roman, Ottoman and French empires.”
He asserted that the result of wars are defined by determinations and not by the quantity of weapons.
