Syrian community held cultural event in Kiev

The Syrian community in Ukraine held a cultural event in Kiev on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the foundation of the Syrian Arab Army.
The cultural event, which was sponsored by the Syrian Honorary Consulate in Ukraine, included the broadcast of the first show of the Syrian documentary film “Above the Earth” directed by Sumer Afif Agha, in addition to a collective exhibition of a group of Syrian  artists.
The Vice-President of the Ukrainian-Syrian Friendship Association, Yuryumka, Alexander Barysevich, called on all countries and international institutions to demand the immediate lifting of the unilateral coercive measures being imposed on the Syrian people.
He stressed that Syria's victory over terrorism is now inevitable  and imminent, highlighting the heroism and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army’s heroes.
Dr. Salem Hanoun, a member of the community , confirmed that this celebration is an expression of the Syrian expatriates' pride in the army's heroes and their sacrifices in the face of terrorism and its evil criminal schemes.
For his part, Afif Agha indicated that the exhibition aims to convey the Syrian people's message of love, peace and Syria's ancient civilized history to all countries of the world..
Giving a quick overview of the film, Syrian director Somar Agha, said that the film “Above the Earth” sheds light on luminous events from the ancient Syrian history, rejecting all the destruction and sabotage that has affected many Syrian regions due to the crimes of terrorists, stressing his great confidence in the restoration of security and stability to Syria.
