Marathon race in Damascus

On the occasion of National Environment Day and under the title of (We protect our environment with our cooperation), 350 athletes from the General sports Federation, Clubs and schools participated in a marathon race from Umayyad Square towards Victoria  bridge passing Al-Marja square, reaching Damascus Citadel.

Al-A’reen sport team topped the race.

Most of the players participated in the race to encourage voluntary  work to protect our environment.

It is to be mentioned that many trees were planted around Damascus during the race.



Hamshou wins the Grand Prix of the second stage of International Peace Championship

Syrian Equestrian Ahmad Hamshou won the Grand Prix of the second stage of International Peace Championship which was held in Saif Al-Sham Club, Damascus countryside.

Hamshou ranked first as he finished the race of (145 cm) in (42.92 sec), while Omar Hamshou ranked second and Sham Al-Assad ranked third.

It is to be mentioned that Equestrian Sham Al-Assad won the Grand Prix of the first stage of the Championship last week.


Syrian Judo team wins 8 medals at Arab Championship

Syrian Judo team won three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the Arab Championship that is currently held in Amman, Jordan.

Mohammad Kasem (90 kg), Hanan Salloum (57 kg) and Hasna Al-Sa’eed (61 kg) won the gold medals, while Suliaman Al-Refa’e (60 kg), Moe’men Mahfoud (66 kg) and Sameh Ramadan (81 kg) won the silver medals.

Also, Khassan Heba (100 kg) and Mohannad Sham (73 kg) won the bronze medals.




Tishreen tops the Syrian Football League

Tishreen team topped the fourth stage of the Syrian football league after beating the Army team (1-0) in Damascus.

Basel Mustafa scored for Tishreen (79th min).

Also in Damascus, Al-Ittihad team beat Al-Shurta (1-0).

Anas Bouta (7th min) scored for Al-Ittihad.

While, Jableh tied with Al-Talea’a (0-0).

In Aleppo, Al-Wahda team beat Al-Jazera (5-2).

Moa’yad Al-Ajan (14th min), Anas Al-A’ji (25th min), Abdul Al-Rahman Barakat (43th , 48th min) and Abdul Al-Hadi Shalha (64th min) scored for Al-Wahda, while Kouran Kholo (61th min) and Mahmoud Al-Anz (74th min) scored for Al-Jazera.

Hutten team will meet Al-Nawa’er in Lattakia today, while Al-Wathba will meet Al-Futuwa in Homs tomorrow.

With these results, Tishreen topped first with 10 points while, Al-Wahda topped second with 9 points.


Syria’s team wins twelve medals at Arab Championship of Gymnastics

Tunisia - The Syrian gymnastics team won twelve medals at the Arab Championship of Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics which is currently held in Tunisia.

In the Junior category, player Abdullah Tarrab won three gold medals in the competitions of the ground movements, table jumping and the horizontal bar, in addition to three bronzes in other competitions.

In the youth category, Fayez Al-Shurbaji won a gold medal and a silver medal at the competitions of the jumping platform, while athlete Naya al-Ghazzi won three golds and a bronze medal at the rhythmic gymnastics competitions.

It is to be mentioned that Syrian team will participate in the men’s category, which will be held today.
